Networking is a key part of how electronic music artists build their brands and gain visibility.

It’s about aligning your own vision, values, skills, and talent with that of others. This is not just about you looking for your next opportunity. It’s not about getting, it’s about building something that is sustainable and supportive.

Networking is a continuous process of connecting with people and cultivating relationships. It is easy to learn and yet many electronic music artists find it difficult to do because they let instant gratification get in the way. If it’s not happening fast enough, they abandon ship.

On this episode, I’m bringing my friend Kathryn Forbes on as a guest to share her networking tips for musicians - suitable for introverts.

Kathryn is the Founder of Designing the Row and Creator of Music Biz Besties. She moved to Nashville the day after she graduated college because she wanted to be in the music business. Even though she knew no one and nothing about the industry, she was determined to make music her career.

This was originally recorded as a live training inside my Facebook group, The Peacock Muster. The content we shared was so on point that I just had to share this on Mind The Music as well.

What you’ll learn in this episode:

  • Why networking is so important to further your career in electronic music and make it sustainable,

  • Kathryn’s 5 steps to networking - suitable for introverts,

  • A real life example of how effective networking can be!

If you’re struggling with networking and want to learn how to do it in a way that feels comfortable to you, then this episode is for you!
