If this is your first time tuning in, let me quickly introduce the show. Mind the music focuses on well-being in electronic music and I explore how we can achieve that, through interviews with people who are active within the dance music industry and outside of it.
Originally born on the island of Taiwan, now living in Cali, Stefanie began her esoteric and sound healing work about ten years ago in San Francisco.
Having come from a media arts and classical music composition background, she studied a lot of different modalities ranging from ancient chants to planetary tones played by tuning forks and singing bowls to sonic sacred geometry.
What ultimately captured her attention was the fields of cymatics and cymatherapy.
In this episode, we talk about:
Her shift into a more esoteric way of life, as opposed to how she lived before that and how her father also took to a more spiritual approach later in life,
How energy, when it’s wholesome, can be hugely affected by outside stimulants like coffee and cigarettes and how she came to realize how much stress she used to put herself through,
How she was introduced to cymatics and how she got into cymatherapy soon after that - applying a combination of sound tones and frequency vibrations to the body which ultimately causes the effect of tuning the body to the frequency it’s supposed to vibrate at.,
An easy daily self-care routine that can look like you just came back from a quick bathroom break.
Stefanie demonstrates the possibility of being able to tap into energy all around you. If you have the right tools at your disposal and not constantly be drained - struggling to fill up again.
She initially developed her cymatherapy practice through experimenting with different frequencies and tones on her own body, during recovery from a surgery she went through, not wanting anesthetics or medication.
Eventually, she started to look at her life and everything around her from a holistic viewpoint and began to uncover how to build a sustainable life.
Later on, this outlook was shaped into a way to help artists build sustainable careers and she also shares her mindful tips on how to reset yourself with super solid tools that you can always go to and energize yourself in just a few short moments - making it look like you just had a quick bathroom break :)
