Do you have difficulties changing your habits?
1 powerful question you can ask yourself to gain clarity so that you can get confident about your next steps to get your EP released or your next DJ gig booked!
Are you looking to release your music on a record label that you love, find an exciting sync placement, self-release your own singles consistently or book more DJ gigs?
Maybe you’ve been dragging out your first or next release for over 2 years and don’t know why.
Or you haven’t recorded, let alone uploaded a new DJ set to Soundcloud in over 8 months, even when you had so much time to kill.
Hitting a wall like that and going around in circles makes you feel like the worlds’ worst procrastinator but you’ve decided that you’re done with going in a continuous loop, feeling like a deer in headlights.
The thing is, you have difficulties changing your habits. You know that doing things differently will help you and yet you seem to forget to do it because it’s just not part of your day-to-day.
It is true that it takes a while for a new habit to stick and to become automatic, like brushing your teeth every day.
But if you keep forgetting to practice the new habit, how on earth can you get to a point where you actually do finish tracks or DJ set like clockwork so that you can get released or booked?
This 4-step tool…
- breaks through blocks and brings you instant clarity,
- enables you to make the best decision for you and everyone involved so that you can move forward in a positive way,
- makes you feel in control so that you can consciously change your thoughts for the better (no more negative self-talk),
- holds you accountable for your own feelings, attitudes, perspectives and actions so that you can feel in control and feel empowered (no more victimizing yourself).
In this video, I share a refreshing approach on that. You’ll learn a powerful question you can ask yourself so that you can gain clarity on why you’re struggling.
I also share 2 steps you can take now so that you can break old patterns and learn to stick to creating new habits which will result in you doing the things you need to do to actually get released and booked for DJ gigs.
I encourage you to use these steps as I explain them in my video because this has helped countless clients of mine break through old habits and avoid making the same mistakes over and over, going in a continuous loop.
I’m breaking down the 2 steps that’ll help you to create new habits so that you can get released or booked below.
Everything all begins with our mindset, our perception of things and what we believe to be true for us. In this case, if you continue to perceive getting released or booked as something that you struggle with, struggle is all you’ll see and experience.
Once you make a shift in your mindset, you’ll see that this shift will start to affect your behaviour - you’ll form new habits which will lead to different results and get you closer to actually achieving your goal of getting your EP released to a label that you love or get booked for more DJ gigs.
This mindset shift consists of 2 steps: Awareness and Accountability
Awareness
You can’t change what you don’t know. But, oftentimes at a subconscious level we know something is off. It’s just that we’re not entirely clear on what exactly that is on a conscious level.
Raising your awareness brings that information from the subconscsious to the conscious level.
This usually feels like an AHA moment or a mental breakthrough. That moment where you suddenly understand what’s going on.Accountability
Once you are aware of what exactly is going on for you, you can hold yourself accountable by taking ownership of what needs to change.
Taking that responsibility for yourself is huge and incredibly empowering!
So, in order to change your habits you’ll want to make a mindset shift first which you can do by raising your awareness of what is going and and then holding yourself accountable for the change that needs to happen.
Applying these steps will make all the difference in you focusing on the wrong things to get released or booked - like for example trying to manage your time better or blindly sending demos to record labels, and acutally getting an EP released on a record label that you love or getting booked for more DJ gigs out of the blue!
Let’s continue the conversation!
