As of October 2022, I am 1 year and 9 months into my own sober journey. What happens when your 30 days sober? Does a month off alcohol make a difference?

I took this selfie whilst riding my bicycle. On my way home from another drinking bender.
It was July 2020. I felt so helpless, and guilty and ashamed and all the feels. I wanted a reminder of how I looked and felt in that moment so that I could make better choices next time I'd go out and put too much alcohol in my body temple.
I even put a reminder on my calendar that says, “When sobriety gets tough, remember July 2020”.
That reminder was on my phone the whole 1st year of my sobriety.
